The best design has an exponential impact, by showing others what’s possible and inspiring people. That’s why we love this LA-based startup.
It might not be producing billions of garments, but its B2B angle – creating recycled cotton clothes for other companies to customise and distribute – is a powerful demonstration of what the new fashion ecosystem needs to look like.

ABOUT EVERYWHERE APPAREL
Everywhere Apparel is a Los Angeles-based startup which produces CirCot – a 100% recycled Cotton yarn made using a closed-loop production process.
The company sources pre-worn clothing from consumers and post-industrial textile waste from the textile markets of Los Angeles and Las Vegas as feedstocks for its closed-loop system.
Its garments feature QR codes, enabling customers to request a pre-paid recycling mailer to return the item – along with any other clothing – to Everywhere to be recycled, in return for credit.
Everywhere’s CEO reported that the company recycled 50,000 pounds (approximately 23 tonnes) of textile waste in 2021. For reference, the global fashion industry generates over 40 million tonnes of textile waste annually.
The firm’s processes conform to the Global Recycled Standard – a voluntary certification of recycling and environmental practice based on ISO 14021 (environmental declarations).
The company’s primary focus is the B2B market, positioning its blank, printable apparel as being well-suited for employee uniforms or corporate giveaways, although it has also released a D2C collection.
In 2021, the business raised USD 3 million in seed funding from MaC Venture Capital.
Co-founders Maxwell Citron and Nick Benavides say they have open-sourced Everywhere’s fibre technology and closed-loop system infrastructure, however, it is not clear which, if any, other garment recyclers are using it at the time of writing.
